CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville police have successfully located a missing elderly man.
The Orlando, FL Police Department contacted Clarksville police to let them know 87-year-old Donald Wilson was found safe in their city. The call came in Thursday around 8:10 a.m.
Wilson was reported missing by his spouse Wednesday around 6 p.m.
Police had confirmed that Wilson purchased a Greyhound bus ticket to Tampa, FL but were unsure at the time whether he boarded the bus.
Wilson’s wife said she dropped him off at the YMCA at 260 Hillcrest Drive around 8 a.m. and went back to pick him up around 9:45 a.m. He supposedly left with a friend of his, Vernie Hill, but Wilson never returned home.
Wilson has Alzheimer’s and has not been taking his medicine since it ran out a few days ago. He was last seen wearing gray sweat pants, a gray sweat shirt with a hood, and a red Alabama hat.
Around 6:30 p.m., Wilson’s wife spoke to him on the phone and he said he was on a bus to Florida.
