Habitat will be collecting items for the Clarksville ReStore on the day of the event and C&L Recycling will be set up to collect shoes, purses, linens and soda cans. All proceeds will go towards the “Cans for Homes” recycling program.


Welcome Home Ride for Heath Calhoun

The community will welcome home Clarksville resident and U.S. Paralympics Silver Medalist SSG R Heath Calhoun April 19.

Clarksville will celebrate his homecoming with a Welcome Home Ride form Outlaw Field (200 Airport Rd.) to Appleton’s Harley Davidson (2501 Hwy 41-A Bypass).

The formation begins at 11 a.m., and bikes will leave at noon. Calhoun will be escorted down 41-A, right onto Riverside, and end at Appleton’s

A meet and greet session with Calhoun will be set up at Appleton’s upon arrival of the riders.


Spring Eggstravaganza

Saturday, April 19th 2014 - 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
at Heritage Park

The event will will have games, inflatables, prizes, a petting zoo, and egg hunts for ages 3-10.

There will be over 20,000 filled eggs and a visit with the Easter Bunny.


Gates open at 12:30 p.m. Each parent or guardian will need to check their child in to receive an armband in order to participate in the egg hunts. There is no cost to enter.

3 yr olds – 2:15 p.m.
4 yr olds – 2:30 p.m.
5 yr olds – 2:45 p.m.
6 yr olds – 3:00 p.m.
7 yr olds – 3:15 p.m.
8 yr olds – 3:30 p.m.
9 yr olds – 3:45 p.m.
10 yr olds – 4:00 p.m.

Homeschooler Day at Land Between The Lakes (Homeschooler Month)

Educators can plan a field trip to Land Between The Lakes this April and use the outdoors as a classroom by picking up “LBL Explorers Passport” for students during April at LBL’s Homeplace living history farm, Nature Station, or Planetarium so they can complete the activities to earn an official Explorer’s Patch and Certificate.

Also, take advantage of unique learning opportunities, hands-on exploration activities, and take-home materials available at all three attractions.

Join us for one of the many family-friendly staff-led programs featured in our April Calendar of Events, including the Second Annual Homeschoolers’ Day at Nature Station on Friday, April 25.

Shrek the Musical

Show times are 4/25/14 at 7:00 p.m. and 4/26/14 at 3:00 p.m. (matinee) and at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are sold at the door $7 for adults, $5 for children, $25 for family pack (2 adults and 3 kids).

Youth Triathlon

Ages 6 to 18 are invited to participate in the Youth Triathlon on April 26. The event will begin at Gardner Pool, located at 2191 Tennessee Avenue with check in at 8 a.m. Children who are age four and five are invited to participate in the Eaglets Run, beginning at 8:45 a.m. The Youth Triathlon will begin at 9 a.m. Strollers will be allowed on the bike and run courses if parents want to go alongside their children. The Youth Triathlon is also an Eagle Challenge Fitness Tour (ECFT) alternate event.

Registration will be open from March 19 through April 24. T-shirts can be purchased through April 27; however, to receive them on race day they must be ordered by April 11. The cost for the Youth Triathlon is $10, Eaglets Run is $5 and a t-shirt is $10. Registration can be completed on-line at or in person at Gardner Indoor Pool. The Youth Triathlon will be rescheduled in the event of severe weather.

Jr. Robotics Camp

Hosted by the award winning Northeast Middle School Electric Eagles Robotics Team, this one day camp offers grade school students a chance to see what Robotics is all about.  With activities geared toward each age group, students will engage in problem solving challenges, participate in leadership and team building activities, learn how robots work and even program them.

Registration is $30 or $25 if you sign up with a friend.  Lunch and a t-shirt is included for each student. To ensure each student has a quality experience, only a limited number of spaces are available.
