CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville Community Concert Association will host Windborne Singers at 3 p.m. Jan. 28 at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall, Austin Peay State University, 780 Marion St.
The internationally renowned ensemble performs folk songs and songs of social struggle and activism acapella. “We believe music can move hearts when minds are made up,” said Lauren Breunig, singer and founding member of Windborne Singers. “It’s powerful to bring this historical music to the modern stage and see how deeply it touches people.”
Windborne singers Breunig, Jeremy Carter-Gordon, Lynn Rowan, and Will Rowan, share a rich blending of voices that shift effortlessly between styles of music. “They are considered the most original, most exciting group in a generation, and we are overjoyed to have them perform in our community,” said Ann Silverberg, CCCA President.
To get the most out of the experience, attendees should arrive at 2 p.m. for the 30-minute pre-concert talk about Windborne and the songs they will perform.
Regular admission is $25 with discounts for seniors 65 and older, military and educators. Admission for students, 18 and younger, is $5 and free for all Austin Peay students with ID. Individual livestream tickets are $20. Free parking is available near the concert hall.
