CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Veteran’s Day weekend is here! Several organizations have prepared events for the three-day weekend, such as book signings, historic tours, and lively music.

Handmade Holidays: Clarksville Parks & Recreation will host its annual, two-day, Handmade Holidays event on Saturday and Sunday. Over 60 vendors will be in attendance, offering a wide variety of handcrafted merchandise from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Eagle Toy Run: Join Appleton’s 22nd annual Eagle Toy Run on Saturday with USO Fort Campbell/Nashville. The ride will end at Appleton’s with music from Josiah Siska and Derek Stoner, plus food trucks, vendors and a silent auction. The event begins at 11 a.m. and, registration at noon, and the run at 1 p.m. The run starts at Star Spangled Brewery at 1030 Progress Drive Suite E. It costs $30 or a toy to participate.

Sevier Station Anniversary Guided Tour: Join historian Roxanne Jenkins for a guided tour and stories of Sevier Station for the 228th anniversary of the Sevier Massacre on Saturday. This is a rare opportunity to visit the station while park staff are present to answer questions. There will also be items on display both inside and outside the home. The event is free and open to the public. It be held this Friday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at 120 Duncan St.

Cumberland Winds Veterans Day Concert: First Baptist Church will be hosting an event Friday at 7:30 p.m. to honor veterans with music. This event will include trumpet soloist Aaron Lindsey performing Arban’s “Carnival of Venice,” and a special flute duet featuring Yvonne Kendall and Anne Friend performing Doppler’s “Andante and Rondo,” Op. 25. The Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard will also be there to post the colors and Dr. Dewey Browder will appear as a guest speaker. His topic is “The Great American Experiment and Those Who Defend It.” The event is free and will be held in the church’s Fellowship Hall at 412 Commerce St.

Veteran’s Day at the Museum: The Customs House is hosting a book signing and program honoring veterans. Susan P. Hunter, author of “77 Letters: Operation Morale Booster: Vietnam” and director of the docuseries “Take Me There: Vietnam,” will be at the Customs House Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at 200 South 2nd St. General admission is between $12 and $5.
