CLARKSVILLE, TN – Three nights of PRCA professional rodeo are set for May 14-16 at the Montgomery County 4-H Arena.

This is the 37th staging of the event sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Clarksville and is presented by Ascension St. Thomas Clarksville Hospital. The proceeds go to benefit the children of Montgomery County, which includes the Reading Rodeo at F&M Bank Arena. This annual event allows 3,300 third-graders from the school system to receive a free book along with a program from
Chris Grabenstein, a Clarksville native and best-selling children’s author.

Besides the seven nightly events that are PRCA and WPRA-sanctioned (bull riding, tie down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, and barrel racing), this year’s rodeo will feature women’s breakaway roping as a qualifying event for Cheyenne Frontier Days, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Trey Windhorst will return as the announcer and Ryder Kiesner as the clown, barrelman and specialty act. Both have earned national acclaim on the PRCA circuit.

“It will be another wonderful three nights of professional rodeo,” says Larry Schmidt, president of the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Clarksville. “We are excited to add the breakaway roping qualifier for the WPRA, and we know the PRCA cowboys will give us a great show.”

The first nightly event is the Miracle Rodeo which is from 5:30-6:30 pm. Thursday is for children in attendance, Friday is for Clarksville Department of Electricity (CDE) family members and Saturday for special needs children from the CADS and Camp Rainbow communities.

Gates open nightly at 5:30 pm and the rodeo starts at 7:30 pm. Tickets can only be purchased at ClarksvilleRodeo.com. Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Children 2-and-under are free provided no seat is needed.

The Montgomery County 4-H Arena is located at 1920 Rossview Road, east of Exit 8 on I-24. For more information contact Larry Schmidt at 931-237-3097 or Larry.Schmidt54@gmail.com.
