Update, 3:20 p.m.: More ice could be coming tonight in Clarksville, with possible icy roads tonight.
“Some freezing drizzle may be possible across mid-state region late this afternoon and tonight,” according to an NWS alert. “With roads that continue to be wet this afternoon through tonight as temperatures remain or fall to below freezing, patches of ice may form on roads, especially secondary non treated roads.
“Please exercise caution while driving on area roadways through tonight.”
Update, 12:28 p.m.: The Ice Storm Warning for Montgomery, Robertson, Stewart and Houston counties has been canceled.
“The chance of significant accumulating precipitation has ended across these counties through the remainder of afternoon hours,” the National Weather Service reported.
Update, 11:45 a.m.: Fort Campbell non-essential operations are now closed for the entire day.
Blanchfield Army Community Hospital outpatient services are closed as well.
Update, 9:55 a.m.: City offices will remain closed today. Essential city services will remain active.
Update, 9 a.m.: A tractor trailer wreck has Interstate 24 westbound blocked in Oak Grove, Kentucky.
Roads and bridges are icy in Stewart and Houston counties.
Update, 8:25 a.m.: After the morning round of light freezing rain, driveways, parking lots and back roads have a layer of ice. Cars may slip on some back roads.

Update, 7:15 a.m.: Another round of freezing rain is now falling in Clarksville, with ice beginning to build up on tree branches.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Overnight freezing rain fell short of expectations Thursday morning, but Clarksville remains under an Ice Storm Warning through 6 p.m., with more coming this afternoon.
The Clarksville Street Department reported at 5:15 a.m. that streets and roads were wet, but no significant ice had accumulated, according to a news release. Some salt was spread on hilly areas, and crews were monitoring conditions.
As of 6 a.m., no overnight serious wrecks or road closures were reported by dispatch in Clarksville, but there were some icy patches on some roads in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. No power outages were reported in Montgomery County.
Under the ongoing Ice Storm Warning, ice accumulations of a quarter inch up to a half inch are still possible. Hazardous travel, power outages, and tree damage will also be possible.
Light freezing rain is forecast until late this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The highs will be in the mid-30s. North winds 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight, there’s a slight chance of light freezing drizzle, with lows in the lower 20s.
