CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A wet and unsettled weekend is in store, with multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected from Friday through Sunday, and a Flood Watch is in effect.

The highest rain chances will occur Friday night and Saturday, while slightly drier conditions are expected to return by the end of the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

With 3 to 4 inches of rainfall possible through the weekend, and soils already saturated, the NWS has issued a Flood Watch through Sunday afternoon. “Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.”
