Update, 5:10 p.m.: At 4:46 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles west of Clarksville, moving east at 50 mph. Winds in excess of 30 mph will be possible with this storm, according to the National Weather Service.

Locations impacted include Clarksville, Palmyra, Cunningham and Woodlawn. This includes Interstate 24 between mile markers 1 and 16.

Update, 5 p.m.: The warning for Stewart County has expired.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Stewart County Until 4:45 p.m.

At 4:19 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located by radar over Dover, moving east at 30 mph with 60 mph wind gusts.

Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include Dover, Big Rock, Cumberland City, Land Between The Lakes and Indian Mound. “For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building,” the alerts said.

Since the storm is moving east, Clarksville residents should stay alert for a possible thunderstorm in the coming hours.
