CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Police say a scam reportedly involving local auto dealers is currently going on in the area.
According to a release from Sgt. Charles Gill with the Clarksville Police Department, individuals are calling under the pretense that they are affiliated with local automotive dealers in the area and that you are the winner of a free trip to Florida.
The caller asks for credit card information for the purpose of confirming your identity.
Police are emphasizing that you should never give your credit card information to anyone over the phone. If it were a legitimate business they would have you come to their business to give you the prize and never conduct such business over the phone.
