CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Police Department is investigating a vehicle burglary and identity theft from the early morning hours of June 23 at two locations in north Clarksville.

The suspect broke into the victim’s vehicle on King Road, off Fort Campbell Boulevard just south of Tiny Town Road, and stole personal items, including credit cards, according to CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien.

Shortly after, the suspect tried to withdraw money using the stolen cards at an ATM inside the MAPCO Mart at 2491 Fort Campbell Blvd. After multiple failed attempts, he tried to purchase $7.74 worth of snacks. The clerk informed him the card was locked, forcing him to leave the store empty-handed – and snackless.

Surveillance images of the suspect were obtained, and CPD is seeking the public’s help in identifying him. Anyone with information or additional video footage is asked to please contact Detective Johnson at 931-648-0656, ext. 5687. To remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward, submit a tip online at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Crime Stoppers website or call the Tipsline, 931-645-8477.
