Update, 1:20 p.m.: Traffic is clearing but still stopped or slow between Exits 4 and 11.

Update, 11:50 a.m.: Traffic is now backed up from Exit 1 to Exit 8. There are also backups in both directions just east of Exit 11.

Update, 10:50 a.m.: Traffic is backed up from just before Exit 4 to Exit 8. There’s another backup just after Exit 11.

Update, 10:20 a.m.: At least one person was injured when a car crashed into a semi-tractor trailer Friday morning on Interstate 24 in Clarksville.

At about 9:48 a.m., the eastbound lanes were shut down by the crash at mile marker 8, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Officer Scott Beaubien. Both occupants of the car will be flown to Nashville by LifeFlight helicopter.

Drivers can take the Exit 8 offramp and then proceed across Rossview Road and back onto I-24 east, but traffic is moving slowly, Beaubien said. Motorists traveling eastbound on I-24 are advised to find an alternate route or expect to be delayed.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 was backed up again through Clarksville on Friday morning.

At 9:55 a.m., eastbound traffic was backed up from about mile marker 12 past Exits 11 and 8 to about mile marker 7. There was another backup around mile marker 15 eastbound.

TDOT is continuing to repair potholes along the interstates.
