TRAFFIC ALERT: I-24 W completely closed at Exit 11 due to overturned semi

UPDATE, 6:30 p.m.: One lane of traffic is now open on I-24 westbound; however, traffic is still backed up, according to an update from CPD

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – I-24 westbound is completely closed at the Exit 11 overpass due to a crash with injuries involving an overturned semi truck.

The Clarksville Police Department is assisting Tennessee Highway Patrol with a semi truck which has overturned . Officers are attempting to detour traffic, but it has caused major traffic issues, according to a CPD statement.

Injuries have been reported in the crash, and a life flight helicopter was present at the scene.

The public is asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes if at all possible.
