CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – From a Kid Rock Tribute Band at the Commons to jazz at the mouth of Dunbar Cave State Park, to free festivals for kids, there’s a lot to do this weekend! Here are your top picks.

Downtown @ Sundown

  • Where: Downtown Commons, 215 Legion St.

  • Details: Kid Kentucky (Kid Rock tribute) will be performing. Food trucks will also be present.

Summer Fest at North Branch

  • Where: Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library North Branch, 435 Jordan Road
  • When: Saturday, July 18, 2-5 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Family-friendly activities for all ages, including Country Music Hall of Fame artists with instrument demonstrations and an interactive Instrument Petting Zoo, indoor and outdoor games, face painting and crafts. Food trucks on-site.

Cooling at the Cave

  • Where: Dunbar Cave State Park, 401 Old Dunbar Cave Road
  • When: Saturday, July 18. Gates open at 6 p.m.; concert 7-9 p.m.
  • Cost: $65 per vehicle (plus fees) for general admission parking pass, or $25 per person (plus fees) for walk-ins without parking.
  • Details: Friends of Dunbar Cave will host its Summer Cooling at the Cave fundraiser featuring live music by the Cumberland Winds Jazz Project at the mouth of Dunbar Cave. Limited tables and chairs available first-come, first-served. Parking limited with advance purchase, walk-in tickets available for those arriving without a vehicle.

Back-to-School Bash

  • Where: Kenwood High School
  • When: Saturday, July 18, 4-7 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: The fourth annual CMCSS Families in Transition Back-to-School Bash will provide students and families with free school supplies, backpacks, new shoes, food, free haircuts and hair braiding, plus family fun including face painting, balloon art, games, a magician, music, an obstacle course, a dunk tank and more.

Superhero Roller Derby Bout

  • Where: Magic Wheels Fun Center, 1671 Fort Campbell Blvd.
  • When: Saturday, July 18. Doors open at 11 a.m.; first whistle at 11:30 a.m.
  • Cost: Kids 12 and under admitted free; tickets available online
  • Details: Clarksville Roller Derby will host a superhero-themed bout against Marble City Mayhem featuring a costume parade and contest, games, concessions and photo ops. Organizers encourage fans to dress as their favorite heroes or villains.
