CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A suspect in a 2014 fire in Clarksville was arrested over the weekend.
The fire occurred May 24, 2014 on Sunset Court.
According to an arrest warrant, the victim saw a white male on his front porch light a match or cigarette lighter, which started the fire.
The victim’s wife also witnessed the suspect pour gasoline from a gas can on the house.
A previous ClarksvilleNow.com article says the man’s face also caught fire in the process, and he began rolling around on the ground before fleeing toward Walnut St.
One of the victims recognized the suspect as 32-year-old Justin Shorten of Texas. A warrant was issued for his arrest after the incident, but he was not taken into custody until November of this year.
Shorten was charged with arson and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. His bond was set at $250,000.
