CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who is wanted for forging checks.

According to a news release, Steven Bernard Stillwell has been accused of making fake checks between Nov. 14 and 19 and paying homeless people to cash them at different local banks. Each check totaled between $2,300 to just under $3,000.

During this time frame, a printer was found in a hotel room rented by Stillwell.

One of the homeless individuals involved was able to pick Stillwell out of a photo line-up provided by investigators.
