CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Marques “Cheez” Kelly, one of three suspects allegedly involved in the 2018 Warfield Boulevard shooting that left 22-year-old Antorius Gallion dead, has been extradited to Montgomery County from Christian County, Kentucky to face homicide charges.

Kelly, 27, was brought into custody on Monday on the charges of criminal homicide, probation violation, first degree murder, reckless endangerment, three counts of weapon possession in commission of a dangerous felony, three counts of aggravated assault and two counts of attempted murder.

The crash

On Nov. 19, 2018, officers with the Clarksville Police Department responded to a rollover crash at Warfield Boulevard and Raleigh Court at about 7:40 p.m.

The vehicle had been shot at multiple times and the driver, Gallion, had been shot. He was taken to a Nashville hospital where he later died from his injuries.

According to initial reports, a female passenger in the car with Gallion was also taken to the hospital with an injured back and was later released. A second male passenger who was also in the car did not require medical treatment.

Three suspects in the shooting that caused the accident were identified as 28-year-old Vincent Bryan “Rabbit” Merriweather, 26-year-old Cedric Stacker and Kelly.

Arrests

Stacker was arrested and charged just a few days after the incident.

In December of 2018, Merriweather was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top 10 Most Wanted list for criminal homicide charges stemming from the Warfield Blvd. shooting. He later turned himself into custody.

Kelly evaded arrest for close to six months after the shooting. He was not arrested until May of 2019 in Kentucky after he led officers with the Kentucky State Police on a car chase through three different counties and then fled on foot, according to reporting from Fox 17.

He was then booked into the Christian County jail.

At the time of the shooting in 2018, Kelly was on parole for 2012 drug charges. Stacker and Merriweather both have an upcoming court hearing on April 30.
