CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Montgomery County Commissioner Ryan Gallant is running for re-election to the District 18 seat.

Gallant, a father and husband, is a 2026 graduate of Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice-Homeland Security, and is an active lifetime member of national leadership honor societies Alpha Phi Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Sigma Alpha Pi. As a musician, he has traveled and performed with veterans to help advocate and raise funds for charitable organizations supporting veterans such as GUMI Camp USA, and TAADAS.

Gallant has served as chairman of the Montgomery County Jail and Juvenile Detention Committee, and the Animal Care and Control Committee, and he is currently as chairman of the Committee on Investment, and Delinquent Tax Sales Committee. He is a member of Leadership Clarksville Class of 2026, volunteers at YAIPAK Outreach, and attends Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

During his first term, Gallant said, he has delivered on expanding Montgomery County’s health care sector, bringing three new hospitals to the community: Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital, Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, and Tri Star Clarksville Hospital, which will be located in District 18.

He said he has a proven voting record against raising unnecessary local taxes and keeping property taxes down. He said he will continue working with state and local leaders towards infrastructure expansion in order to keep up with the ongoing increase in housing developments.
