CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW)- Rossview High School sophomore forward Israel Dillard has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in the Hawks games during the week of January 5.

Dillard averaged 26.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block over the week. The most important stat, Rossview went 2-0, with city wins over Northwest and rival Clarksville High.

“I’m very appreciative of the award, I think it’s just a reflection of how well my coaches and teammates have put me in a position to succeed, their belief and trust in me. The glory, most importantly, always goes to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Dillard was a beast on the glass during the week, recording a double-double in both games, including a 17-rebound performance against Northwest. He was also a force on the defensive end, shutting down the other team’s post scoring option throughout the week. As just a sophomore, Dillard’s development has been steady, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.

“Israel is a great teammate and a first-class young man,” said Hawks head coach Johnny Jackson. “His play has steadily improved throughout the season, and he continues to get better every single practice. That kind of growth and commitment is all you can ask for as a coach.”
