CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The chance of strong thunderstorms on Wednesday is rising, along with the temperature.

“Expect much warmer temperatures today and even warmer on Wednesday ahead of an approaching cold front,” the National Weather Service said.

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. Wednesday until 1 a.m. Thursday.

“Surface winds on Wednesday and Wednesday evening are expected to increase to 20 to 30 mph, with sustained with gusts of 45+ mph at times,” the NWS said.

Storm could follow those winds.

“Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening,” the NWS said. “Damaging straight-line winds are the primary threat. An isolated tornado or two is also possible.

“Temperatures will cool back down Thursday and Thursday night.”
