UPDATE:

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (Clarksvillenow.com) The driver of a stolen motorcycle crashed around 6:00 Thursday evening. The crash involved the motorcycle and a vehicle which left the motorcycle rider seriously injured.

Clarksville Police Officers responded to the crash at Peachers Mill Rd and Taft Dr. A 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 28-year-old Aelix Santiago from Antioch, TN struck a 2005 Kia Optima operated by 21-year-old Alicia Bamman from Clarksville.

According to witnesses the motorcycle was traveling in the continuous left turn lane while passing other vehicles. The motorcycle then went into the southbound on-coming travel lane where the crash occurred. Aelix Santiago was ejected from the motorcycle which resulted in serious bodily injuries.

During the crash investigation it was determined Aelix Santiago had stolen the motorcycle from the Hooters parking lot on N Riverside Dr. Warrants for theft of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, simple possession and not wearing a motorcycle helmet were secured.

Clarksville Police Department Public Information Officer Natalie Hall says the investigation is ongoing and there is no further information at this time.
