Oak Grove, KY. – A major retail facility in Oak Grove, Kentucky is one step closer to reality with a ribbon cutting Monday, January 20 on the planned Oak Grove Village. The retail shopping village has been in the works for several years and ground work has begun on the 110 acre site on Fort Campbell Boulevard/41-A across from Gate 7 Road in Oak Grove.

Monte Albers de Leon, Principal with ADL Enterprises, talked about the Oak Grove Village project and said they were looking for an opening date in November of this year for the first phase of the project consisting of a Carmike Cinema with 13 theatres, restaurants and small retail establishments related to the theatre.

“We all know that this has been a long time coming and we couldn’t be prouder that we’re able to finally to tell the good people of Oak Grove, Fort Campbell and beyond that this is not only a project that we’re proud of but a project that we can deliver,” said Albers de Leon.

The oakgrovevillage.net website says plans are for the facility to offer a pedestrian-friendly, open-are mixed use design that is expected to be the first of its kind in the region. The pedestrian-oriented town center will integrate shops, restaurants, movie theatre, performance center, offices and housing.

The website also says the location within two miles of the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line offers the benefit of a strong, established cross-border customer base that takes advantage of Kentucky’s lower sales tax over the Tennessee rate.

Oak Grove Mayor Dan Potter was excited about the plans for Oak Grove Village. “It’s filling in the links. We’ve got a lot of stuff going on right now in Oak Grove and this is just going to be the centerpiece of our operation of the City of Oak Grove,” Potter said.
