CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who committed identity theft and fraud downtown earlier this year.

On April 30, a man used a stolen identity to open a bank account in the victim’s name at the US Bank, 1 Public Square, according to CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien.

The man transferred funds from the victim’s legitimate account into the fraudulent one before visiting multiple US Bank locations in an attempt to transfer additional funds. Surveillance cameras captured images of the man, and detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

Anyone with information or additional video footage is asked to contact Detective Alquzweeni at 931-648-0656, ext. 5366. To remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward, submit a tip online at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Crime Stoppers website or call the Tipline, 931-645-8477.
