CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Football Coaches from across Clarksville-Montgomery County came together Wednesday, August 14 at Laida Fellowship Hall inside First Baptist Church for the 12th Annual High School Football Kickoff Luncheon.

More than 110 people attended the event, which is organized each year by members of the Clarksville Rotary Club, Clarksville Civitan Club and the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville.

The luncheon began with Austin Peay State University Head Football Coach Mark Hudspeth talking about his upcoming first season with the Governors. Four new leaders will also be opening their first season as high school head football coaches.

Speaking to the crowd were John Crosby of Clarksville Academy, Les Greer of Kenwood, Brandon Clark of Northeast and Neil Furnish of Northwest. Other returning high school head football coaches at the luncheon included Issac Shelby of Clarksville, Jeff Tomlinson of Montgomery Central, Todd Hood of Rossview and James Figueroa of West Creek.

Josh Robbins from Fort Campbell High School was unable to attend the luncheon.

ESPN Clarksville, 104.1 FM & 540 AM carried the luncheon live on the radio and ESPN sportscasters, Brian Rives and Bob Belvin, emceed the luncheon as each coach was introduced and stepped up to the podium to talk about their schools, their teams and players, the upcoming season, and a little bit about their coaching styles.
