The parade scene for the forthcoming Amazon film called Holland, Michigan, starring Nicole Kidman, began filming on Tuesday on a revamped Franklin Street in downtown Clarksville.
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The parade scene for the forthcoming Amazon movie called Holland, Michigan, starring Nicole Kidman, began filming on Tuesday on a transformed Franklin Street.
For the parade scene, set in the 1980s, Clarksville Police were enforcing traffic control, and a portion of downtown was off-limits to commercial activity and open parking.

According to IMDB, Holland, Michigan is a “thriller centered on a woman who suspects her husband is cheating, and enters into an affair of her own, before learning her husband’s true, dark secret life.” Directed by Mimi Cave, the movie stars Kidman, Matthew Macfadyen and Gael García Bernal.
Various businesses downtown were given temporary signage, transformed into peanut shops, flower stores and more. Plastic tulips were “planted” on the sidewalks and in flower boxes along the street.
Filming continues Wednesday, April 19. All affected streets and properties will be returned to their original states no later than April 21, according to a city news release. After filming, a Street Department sweeper will be used April 20 to sweep up confetti that’s to be used in the film scene.
