MSG. Ret. Morris Melroy Van Why, Jr., passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the age of 88.
Morris was born September 5, 1936, in Austin, PA, to the late Morris Melroy Van Why, Sr. and Twila Lundin. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Van Why; son, Mike Smith; brother, Robert Van Why; and sister, Mona Lee Van Why Goolsby.
Morris is survived by his son, Melroy Van Why; daughters, Angela Wooden, Kathy Pelkie, and Sandra Sensing (Johnny); grandchildren, Eddie Van Why, Chad Wooden, Rhiannon Van Why, Eric Wade, Lindsey Gafford, Johnathon Sensing and Carrie West; great-grandchildren, Skylar Walden, Kallie Walden, Moxon Van Why, Brixton Fossie; Kaitlyn Wade, Conner Wade, Mason Sensing, Ayden West and Dylan Snyder; and beloved family dog, Ziggy.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Briggs officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial will directly follow the service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ben West, Dylan Snyder, Eddie Van Why, Brian Gafford, Eric Wade, Chad Wooden, and Jonathon Sensing.
