CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – As the off-season progresses, Austin Peay State University athletic teams are continuously trying to add talent to their rosters. This is the case for Nate James and the Governors men’s basketball program.
One of their latest roster moves included adding Missouri transfer Sean Durugordon to the team. With the addition, Austin Peay adds an athletic wing with great length. Durugordon was recruited by additional schools such as Alabama, Ole Miss, Xavier, Saint Mary’s, BYU, Rhode Island and San Jose State.

“I wanted to go somewhere where I’d be able to play my game and play freely,” said Durugordon. “You are a different player when you are free. I know what I can do, now it’s time for others to see what I’m capable of. Austin Peay truly fit the mold of what I was looking for. Coach James and his coaching background played into the decision as well. He contributed to Duke’s success, so I know what he can accomplish here at Austin Peay. Coach will put me in a great position to succeed with a hope of playing at the next level.”
Durugordan played limited minutes throughout his time with the Tigers this past year, but made the most of his opportunities. He showcased his ability to crash the boards, efficiently score and draw fouls at the rim. Durugordon’s best games were against top tier competition such as Florida State, Kansas and Kentucky. The former three star recruit stated that his biggest takeaway from this past year with Missouri was to always stay prepared and ready.
Durugordon has set the expectation for himself to consistently perform at a high level while improving throughout the season. He also has expectations that the team will go on to win the A-SUN and advance to the NCAA basketball tournament.
“The Austin Peay basketball community can expect someone who is a gym rat, a great teammate and someone who is going to make a tremendous impact on both ends of the floor,” said Durugordon.
