CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Manna Café Ministries hosted their Golden Gala fundraiser on Friday at Living Hope Church. Close to 150 supporters and guests attended the event and enjoyed a dinner prepared by the Manna Café chef and culinary department.

Founder and CEO of Manna Café Kenny York and his wife Vicki took a moment to recognize members of the organization as well as supporters in the community.

Awards were presented to Awaken Church as the most consistent business donor, and Congressman Mark Green for being the most consistent private donor. For Manna Café, Thomas Williams was honored as the Volunteer of the Year, and Brandy Barker for Employee of the Year.

A special award will be given to the family of the late Coy Baggett Jr., who served as a board member of Manna Café Ministries and was a dedicated supporter of the organization for many years.

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts and Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett were the featured guest speakers.

Pitts said that the night was a night to recognize that there are people across our community who are faced with a choice: to eat or not. Without Manna Café and Manna Village, there are those who would miss yet another meal.

Durrett said Manna Café Ministries has grown tremendously from its beginnings and has provided tens of thousands of boxes of food to people in the community.

Manna Café Ministries will will hold the 12th annual Combat Hunger food drive on Saturday, Nov. 13.
