CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Retired U.S. Army Maj. Lekeshia Angelique Hicks has announced her candidacy for Montgomery County commissioner in District 9.
Hicks served as a U.S. Army Human Resources officer, retiring at the rank of major after leading complex personnel operations, managing large-scale budgets, and developing workforce systems across federal operations.
She currently serves as vice president of Training & Development for Black Clarksville Business Group and is the founder of Lekeshia Angelique Consulting. She is also completing her doctorate at Austin Peay State University, where her research focuses on workforce policy and education systems.
Hicks said District 9 deserves a commissioner who brings that same level of preparation and accountability to county government.
“As someone who has dedicated my career to service, both in uniform and in our community, I understand the responsibility that comes with leadership,” Hicks said. “I’m running to represent District 9 with preparation, integrity, and a steady focus on the long-term well-being of our county.”
