CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville author, poet and creative professional Komplex Simplicity will celebrate a decade in print with “Ten Years in Ink: Cheers to 10 Years,” an evening of poetry, live performance, reflection and a few surprises. The celebration takes place on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Artisan Bistro, 1715 Wilma Rudolph Blvd, Suite D. Doors open at 4:50 p.m., and the show runs from 5-8 p.m.
“Ten years ago, a small collection of poems started a conversation,” said Komplex Simplicity. “Join us for an evening to celebrate everything it has become.”
Guests can expect:
- Live performance: New pieces from the 10th anniversary edition, alongside the poems audiences know by heart.
- Live Q&A: a chance to ask Komplex about the writing, the journey, and the next chapter,
hosted by poet and spoken word artist J.A.K. Danger. - Celebratory toast: Champagne or sparkling apple cider.
- Book signing: Hardcover copies of the 10th anniversary edition will be available for
purchase and signing after the show, with the merch table open. - A few surprises that are being kept under wraps.
The evening features performances by poets and spoken word artists Jamala Davis and Dee Threets. Darrell Brown will serve as MC, and DJ David will provide music throughout the event.
Reflecting on the milestone, Komplex Simplicity shared: “As I sat with what 10 years meant to me, I felt the full gravity of what I’ve experienced in this time. From experiencing absolute joy to the passing of my oldest sister six months later. From quitting poetry and spoken word, to finding a new voice in my pen 11 months later. From re-experiencing open mic after such a loss, to meeting my love in that very room. These years have been hard, eye-opening, unforgiving, and yet I’ve seen the grace of God more times than I can count. So, I decided to celebrate.”
