CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Jimmy Brown has announced his candidacy for the Clarksville City Council representing Ward 9.

A resident of Clarksville since 1989, Brown has been an integral part of the community. He currently serves as the lieutenant over Courts and Civil Process at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. During his 24-year tenure at the Sheriff’s Office, he has served in various roles, including 10 years as a patrol sergeant, which provided him a deep understanding of traffic issues impacting our city.

Prior to his career in law enforcement, Brown worked in automotive retail and at local factories. His family owned and operated a local pizza shop, where he gained firsthand insight into the challenges faced by small-business owners. He said he has the knowledge and empathy necessary to advocate effectively for local businesses, entrepreneurs and employees.

Jimmy is married to Lori Brown. They have been married for 24 years and have two children and two grandchildren.

As a candidate for Clarksville City Council, Brown’s platform centers on two key pillars: public safety and infrastructure. Recognizing the fundamental importance of these issues to the well-being and prosperity of the community, he said he  is committed to implementing policies and initiatives that enhance public safety measures and improve essential infrastructure throughout Ward 9 and beyond.

“I have devoted my life to serving this community, and I am humbled by the opportunity to continue that service on the City Council,” said Brown. “I believe that by prioritizing public safety and infrastructure, we can build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous future for all residents of Ward 9.”
