CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – US Army Captain Commander – Army Reserves, Jason Knight, is formally announcing his candidacy for Montgomery County Commissioner, District 18.

“During my tragic experience, seeing our nation attacked in New York and watching the twin towers fall with my own eyes on 9/11, I saw a city come together. I saw strangers work together to help each other, I saw community. The attack on our nation made me realize that I needed to do something for my country, which gave me the motivation to enlist in the Army, to which I deployed three times in defense of our nation. However, seeing how a community can come together in such a time of crisis made me realize that I needed to serve my community, in any capacity I could. I love our Clarksville life, and am working to serve you,” Knight said in a press release.

Knight has been talking and meeting with the citizens of District 18 over the past year to learn about their concerns and priorities.

The foundation of Knight’s campaign will be to continue hosting District Forums so that the citizens of District 18 can make their voices known.

Knight will host a Meet & Greet on Thursday, February 22 at The Pottery Room, 110 Needmore Dr. from 6-8 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

Knight describes himself as a proud, conservative Christian husband and father of seven. He currently serves as an Information Systems Manager with the TN Dept of Child Services and is completing his PhD in Information Systems Management.
