CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville’s summer concert series, Jammin in the Alley, will no longer take place.
Jennifer Byard, Special Events coordinator for the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, said the popular concert on Strawberry Alley will be discontinued in favor of a new series of monthly concerts that will begin next year at Liberty Park.
This new project was set to begin this summer, but Byard said it had to be postponed. The new concerts will feature acts in a variety of genres to draw larger crowds.
“We’re really looking at a bunch of different options right now, but one of the things we had thrown out there was getting national bands, getting larger acts, and then having locals open up for them,” Byard said.
Downtown merchants have talked about potentially hosting concerts of their own, and the Byard said the city would be willing to work with them.
