James Emmett Taylor, 84, of Clarksville, TN, died on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center. He was born on December 25, 1928 in Pine Ridge, SD to the late William Cordine Taylor and Myrtle Bell Lockman Taylor. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Van D. Crouter, Lloyd Earl Taylor, and Samuel Edward Taylor.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Spann officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
James during his lifetime was a farm hand from age 12-18, drove heavy construction equipment for 2 years, had his own restaurant for 2 years, drove 18 wheelers cross country for over 30 years, worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 6 years, and drove house trailers from manufacturers to dealers for 2 years until a bad heart stopped his hard working life and he spent the last years of his life doing family history. He will be missed, but he is at peace.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Marie Eaton; eight sons, Donald, David, Allen, Richard, Michael, Kenneth, William, and Michael; four daughters, Janet, Gayla, Wanda, and Paula; two sisters, Verna and Betty; thirty-seven grandchildren; forty-six great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
