CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – It was a brighter Christmas Eve for many people Friday as close to 150 volunteers shared the Christmas spirit with those in need at the 14th annual Warm Souls Christmas with Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries.

Jon Vaughn with Radical Mission said more than 1,000 meals were handed out, feeding 830 individuals and 226 households. “Today we are hopefully providing a Christmas atmosphere for people in the community that might not necessarily have an opportunity for Christmas,” Vaughn said.

Along with those who took advantage of the drive-thru service – accepting bags filled with free food and other needed essentials – many people were transported by the Clarksville Transit System, which offered free rides.

It was the second year for the drive-thru event, held on the campus of Austin Peay State University in the parking lot between the Dunn Center and Fortera Stadium due to a concerns for safety with the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past few years, Warm Souls Christmas has been held in the APSU Morgan University Center.
