HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Hopkinsville Christian County YMCA is excited to announce the hiring of their new CEO, Pamela Hamilton.
Since 2014, Pamela has served as the CEO for the YMCA of Mayfield Graves County in Mayfield KY. She started as the Youth Development Director (2009-2011) where she revitalized the after school programs resulting in an increase of participation and an additional school system being served. She quickly moved into the role as the Senior Program Director (2011-2014) which included responsibilities over the youth sports, aquatics and membership areas. In the few years, she led it to a successful collaboration with the Graves County School Board and Graves Elementary School that allowed for community events such as the health fair, back-to-school nights and career fairs.
Lori Harper, YMCA Chief Volunteer Officer, stated “Pamela’s experience brings an understanding of the YMCA structure while making a positive impact within the community. The YMCA is a place where someone can participate in group exercise, build relationships and provide opportunities for involvement within our programs in our community.”
The YMCA Executive Board and Search Committee worked diligently over the last month during this hiring process. Ms. Hamilton’s experience and her passion for youth development work is what they felt made her the perfect match for the Hopkinsville Christian County YMCA CEO.
Pamela graduated from University of Missouri with a M.Ed in Theatre Studies. She also received her Bachelor’s degree from Murray State University summa cum laude in Theatre and minor in Mass Communications. Ms. Hamilton’s first day will be August 1st, 2017.
