CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Police are trying to identify suspects in several burglaries and a motor vehicle theft. The crimes occurred overnight Tuesday June 3, in the subdivisions off of Ringgold Rd.
The video clearly shows suspects entering an unlocked vehicle. Multiple suspects are evident in the video. The mass canvassing of the neighborhood indicates the individuals are most likely up to no good.
Viewers will notice one suspect checking the locked door handle of one vehicle. At the same time, the suspect is checking and finding the other vehicle unlocked. The burglar can be seen slowly pushing the door shut and not slamming it.
A 2016 black Jeep Cherokee was stolen after the key was left in the vehicle. Not evident in the video, the Jeep Cherokee has blue brake calipers which might make it stand out if someone sees it. According to the owner, it also has 20-inch rims, a Carolina Panther license plate cover, and a Citadel Military School magnet.
Be Vigilant and Lock Your Vehicle
This video depicts a fairly standard method of operation for committing burglaries in neighborhoods. The Clarksville Police Department strongly recommends citizen lock your vehicles. Vehicles in a driveway, or left unattended for a few moments, are still at risk.
Secure all valuables. Do not leave items that are enticing or easily within reach. Phones, money, chargers, purses, backpacks, etc. should be brought indoors. Lastly, take your keys with you.
