FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The 101st Airborne Division Association and Fort Campbell volunteers will host the Gamberi, Gold Star & Surviving Family Member Memorial Golf Scramble at Fort Campbell’s Cole Park on May 23.

Golfers will check in at noon and a the tournament begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The tournament is open to the first 120 players or 30 teams with proceeds going to help raise funds for a “Place for Peace” at Fort Campbell’s Survivor Outreach Services.

The “Place for Peace” plans include a pavilion, play area and walking trail with words of encouragement and inspiration for Gold Star families to use near Survivor Outreach Services.

The “Place for Peace” was the vision of Gold Star Mother Sheila Patton who thought it was important to provide a place for Gold Star Families to gather for small family events or just to spend a few moments of quiet introspection.

Golfers may register online at the 101st Airborne Division Association’s website at www.screamingeagle.org or at by email at gamberigolfscramble@gmail.com. Individuals or teams of four may register for the tournament with a minimum donation being $45 per player. For the minimum donation players get a package that includes 18 holes of golf, carts and a buffet dinner at Cole Park’s Southern Buffet.
