CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The 9th annual Empty Bowls, Hope not Hunger took place Tuesday at six different churches across Clarksville-Montgomery County. The event is a fundraiser for Urban Ministries and Loaves & Fishes where people enjoy soup, bread and dessert as well as getting to take home a ceramic bowl.
The bowls featured at the event were hand-painted creations by local citizens at bowl painting parties that have been taking place over the past few months. The bowls are a reminder for those attending the event that they are helping to fill empty bowls in the community.
Churches participating in this year’s Empty Bowls included Grace Lutheran, Immaculate Conception, Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, New Providence United Methodist, Sango United Methodist and Trinity Episcopal.
