CLARKSVILLE, TN – The National Eagle Scout Association has established the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award to recognize valuable service of an exceptional nature by a Scout to a religious institution, a school, community or other entity.

The award recognizes the Scout for their Eagle Scout service project, which is part of the requirements for earning the Eagle Scout Award. Each local council NESA committee shall select one service project of the year from among those meeting the submission guidelines.

Taylor Bell was selected by Middle Tennessee Council, and from that pool, each National Service Territory (NST) would pick an NST-level winner.

Taylor received her Eagle Scout rank on Feb. 8, 2021, as a member of Scouts BSA Troop 2019 and Crew 197. For her Eagle Scout project, she designed and built a K-9 obstacle course for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. Taylor’s Troop 2019 is a Member of Trail of Tears District in Middle Tennessee Council. She is also the membership chairman for the Wa-Hi-Nasa Order of the Arrow Lodge.

The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year, Taylor Bell, was the winner of the Best Eagle Scout Project for BSA Territory 14, which encompasses five states, and 19 BSA Councils. A national winner then be selected from the 16 NST finalists.
