CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Donald Pertzborn has announced his candidacy for City Council, Ward 10.

Pertzborn was born in Middleton, Wisconsin, in December 1960. His father owned a meat-packing plant, and his mother focused on maintaining the home and raising children with strong moral values, he said. For over 30 years, he has worked in the transportation industry ensuring prompt deliveries to local businesses. Donald and his wife, Sharon Pertzborn, have raised three children and co-parented three foreign exchange students through high school.

He said growing up in a small town has imbued him with three notable, core principles: respect for the past, gratitude for the present, and hope for the future here in Clarksville. “The people of Clarksville deserve a City Council representative who easily and naturally relates to their lives and values,” Pertzborn said.

His main focuses will be advocating fiscal responsibility and lower taxes, supporting a balanced budget, and assisting in policy direction. Pertzborn said he is driven by a strong belief in the people of Clarksville and the values of Tennessee, and he said he will work hard to maintain Christian principles.

He said he will bring a servant leadership approach to diversifying the economy, revitalizing the streets and sidewalks, and ensuring quality and sustainable infrastructure is in place for traffic to run smoothly. Additional policy direction will include a dedication to pro-life values and supporting soldiers at Fort Campbell.

Ward 10 covers both sides of the Red River, roughly from Dunbar Cave Road to Madison Street, and from just east of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard to just past Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
