CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville Parks & Recreation received a grant from the Tennessee State Chapter, in coordination with the North Central chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, to help introduce youth to the outdoors in new, meaningful ways during this year’s Summer Youth Program.
Through this grant, the Summer Youth Program will offer campers two immersive field trips that inspire a connection to the outdoors while fostering conservation awareness and environmental stewardship. Participants will also engage in interactive environmental education experiences throughout the program.
The National Wild Turkey Federation regularly supports projects that strengthen wildlife habitat, expand access, and promote education and outreach, including youth-focused efforts across the country.
“Helping youth connect with the outdoors is an important part of building future stewards of our natural resources,” said Jereme Odom, Vice President of the State Board of Directors. “We are proud to support the Summer Youth Program, bringing youth to nature and creating positive outdoor experiences.”
Support from partners like the Tennessee and North Central Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation helps expand the impact of that work and create new ways for participants to engage with the natural environment.
