Fort Smith, ARKANSAS (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man has been sentenced to serve seven years in prison for possession of 19 pounds of methamphetamine.

Duane (DAK) Kees, United States Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, announced that Miguel Angel Galicia-Canseco, age 33, of Clarksville, Tennessee was sentenced Wednesday to 84 months (seven years) in federal prison followed by two years of supervised release on one count possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to court records, in June of 2017, Arkansas State Police pulled Galicia-Canseco’s truck over on the interstate. The officer discovered that Galicia-Canseco had a felony arrest warrant out of Tennessee for a drug offense.

During the stop, police used a K-9 to sniff around the truck and found approximately 19 pounds of methamphetamine.

Galicia-Canseco pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in November 2017.

This case was investigated by the Arkansas State Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant United States Attorney Amy M. Driver prosecuted the case for the United States.
