CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville High running back James Dalrymple has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week for his standout performance on Sept. 1, which included averaging over 12 yards per carry.
During week three of the high school football regular season, the Wildcats traveled to Kenwood High to take on the Knights. Clarksville High entered the matchup looking for their third consecutive victory and were able to keep their winning streak alive with a 41-14 win.
Dalrymple led the offensive attack for CHS after doing it all. He finished the game with 10 carries for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns. In addition, the junior running back had a two-point conversion, 1 catch for 15 yards and 1 passing touchdown.
After scoring 41 points last week, Clarksville High averaged just over 46 points per game through the first three games. During that time frame, they have outscored opponents 139-21 to begin the 2023-24 season.
Coming off his best game of the season, Dalrymple has more than doubled his number of rushing yards and touchdowns on the season. During weeks one and two, the running back compiled 16 carries for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns.
In total through his first three games played, Dalrymple’s season stats totaled 26 carries for 244 rushing yards, 4 touchdowns, while averaging 9.3 rushing yards per carry.

Several other players had great weeks on the football field. Here are some that merit special mention:
- Clarksville Academy Quarterback Chris Ragans – Completed 9 out of his 15 throws for 160 yards and 1 touchdown pass. Ran the ball 12 times for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns.
- Clarksville Academy Wide Receiver Andrayas Scott – 6 catches for 133 yards and 1 touchdown.
- Fort Campbell High Running Back Keshawn Dixon – 9 rushes for 70 yards and 2 receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown.
- Kirkwood High Defensive Tackle JJ Chatman – 10 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss, 1 sack and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
- Northwest High Defensive End Bryce Brooks – 8 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss and 2 sacks.
- Rossview High Running Back DeAntwan Young Jr. – 27 carries for 140 yards and 1 touchdown, 3 receptions for 13 yards.
