CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Region 7-4A tournament kicked off Saturday with quarterfinal games. After a night that only saw one top seed win, Clarksville High and Rossview are the last teams left standing in Clarksville.
Northwest traveled to Rossview, where they gave the Hawks a scare behind Ahmad Harvey’s 24 points. The Hawks escaped the upset with a 63-59 victory. Clarksville traveled to Kenwood and upset the Knights, and handily at that, behind Kellen Howard’s 26 points, 67-45. Clarksville High and Rossview will meet for a fourth time this season in the regional semifinal. Rossview leads the season series 2-1, and is 6-1 against Clarksville High in the past two years.
In the upset of the night, Springfield beat West Creek 57-56 on their home floor. Springfield used patient offense and defensive intensity to stun the Coyotes, who had the ball down 3, and chose to take a layup, putting them down by 1 as the clock expired. Dickson County also upset the Cobras from Kirkwood, and they will face Springfield in the regional semifinal.
