CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Fire Chief Freddie Montgomery, Clarksville Fire Rescue, and Mayor Joe Pitts will host Clarksville’s annual ceremony honoring fallen firefighters and the victims of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
The remembrance will be at 8:46 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Clarksville’s Fire Station No. 1, 802 Main St. Face masks, social distancing and pre-event temperature checks will be required. The event will include placement of a memorial wreath, guest speakers and presentation of flowers to families of fallen firefighters.
“Clarksville Fire Rescue is going to continue our tradition of honoring the fallen from September 11, we’ve done that since 2002 and we don’t want to miss that opportunity to do it again,” said Montgomery.
Fire service, law enforcement and emergency services personnel, Clarksville City Council, city department heads, Montgomery County elected leaders and the general public are invited to attend.
