CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A 23-year-old man was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night.

Clarksville police said the crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. at McClardy Rd and Whitt Ln.

Joshua Crouch, 32, of Clarksville was driving a Ford F150 pickup north on McClardy Road when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and hit a guardrail, causing the truck to redirect back across the road where it came to rest in a yard near 1390 McClardy Rd.

During the crash, the 23-year-old passenger, who was not restrained, hit the windshield and was ejected through an open passenger-side front window.

The man was flown by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt and is in extremely critical condition.

Crouch was taken by ambulance to Tennova Medical Center and treated for a shoulder injury. He was booked into Montgomery County Jail and charged with: DUI and Vehicular Assault; Bond: $25,000.

Police said alcohol was a factor in the crash.
