Clarksville, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Academy senior outfielder Brennan Gibson has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in the Cougars wins over West Creek, Kirkwood and Montgomery Central High during the week of March 17.

Gipson is coming off a season where he was named to the Clarksville Now All-Area Team after being named district MVP and slashing a batting average of .459 with 36 RBI’s, 4 home runs, along with 12 stolen bases. The senior outfielder picked up right where he left off as he had an .800 batting average this past week, which was highlighted by his 5-5 performance against Montgomery Central with the addition of 5 RBI’s.

“It’s a great feeling to receive this award,” Gibson told Clarksville Now. “It shows all the hard work I’ve put in and all the support I’ve received from teammates and coaches.”

“Brennen is very deserving of any recognition he receives,” said Clarksville Academy head baseball coach Dustin Smith. “He is a quiet leader who does the small things to improve on a daily basis.”
