CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – Clarksville Academy (CA) announces Jerri Bragg as the new Varsity Softball Coach for the school.
Bragg is excited about her new role at CA.
“I look forward to leading the Cougar Softball program. This past year serving as assistant offered me the chance to familiarize myself with the program and the students,” she said.
Bragg is no stranger to coaching at CA. She is currently serving as the Cross Country Head Coach, has served as both assistant and head coach of the girl’s basketball program and served as assistant Varsity Softball coach this past season.
Jerri played softball at the University of North Georgia, the same institute where she received her teaching degree. Her coaching highlights aside from CA include Varsity Softball Head Coach at Gainsville High School, Varsity Assistant Girl’s basketball coach at Gainesville High School and Head Girls Middle School Basketball Coach at Gainesville Middle School, in Hall County Georgia where she won back-to-back county championships.
Coach Mike Trent led the Cougars Softball program for over five seasons. At the end of last season, Trent stepped down as head coach. Bragg assisted Trent for the 2016 season and was the perfect fit for the team. Trent has coached for CA athletics for over ten years and will continue to teach and serve as Assistant boy’s basketball coach for the Academy.
Coach Bragg and her husband, Jeff, have two children currently enrolled at CA: Layne in 7th grade and Garrett in 9th grade.
“I look forward to empowering student athletes to reach their full potential by inspiring them to commit to their teammates, develop a passion for competition, and to become productive adults through an extremely positive athletic experience here at Clarksville Academy,” Bragg said.
