Charles Macon Sheppard, age 84, passed away October 25, 2013, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital, in Nashville. He was born in Clarksville, to the late William Herbert Sheppard and Mary Louise Graham Sheppard. Charles was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
He retired from the City of Clarksville, after a lifetime of utility construction, was an avid fisherman, and a member of Hilldale Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 28, with Steve Kirby and Roy Goodmiller officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, October 27 and Monday, from 9:30 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Forbes, Michael Sheppard, Jr., Andy Hollis, Steve Elliott, Wade Rudolph, Dean Fain, Dillan Streetman, and John Dorris McElroy. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Ellis.
Mr. Sheppard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marion Clyde Sheppard; two sons, Mike (Shelia) Sheppard and Raymon (Kristi) Sheppard, both of Clarksville; one daughter, Sandra (Gary) Ellis, of Clarksville; three brothers, Harold “Pete”, Robert, and Larry Sheppard, all of Clarksville; four sisters, Margaret Nunnelly, Rose Harris, Patsy McElroy, and Barbara Elliott, all of Clarksville; seven grandchildren, Dean Ellis, Melissa Ellis, Stephanie Moore, Michael Sheppard, Jr., Amanda Forbes, Katelyn Sheppard, and Morgan Sheppard; and five great-grandchildren, Brittany Menees, Samantha Moore, Heather Norris, Kristine Ellis, and Bennett Forbes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
