FORT CAMPBELL, KY. – (Clarksvillenow.com) Fort Campbell High School (FCHS) has announced their new Athletic Director. Charles Poole, a computer science teacher has taken over the athletic department for the Falcons.
Poole is a native to the Clarksville area, having been born at Fort Campbell and is a graduate of Northwest High School. He is also a veteran who served eight years in the Marine Corps. He started as a substitute teacher at FCHS in 2008 and has taught full time since 2014.
He has been the assistant football coach since 2009 and along with his new sports administration duties Poole will also continue with his teaching responsibilities. Poole also talked about another aspect of his new job that he wants to expand on.
“For me, another thing about being athletic director is to give back to the community. I was a military child and from being a military child I can understand and relate to the student-athletes in that way. Also from serving in the Marine Corps I can relate to the parents on that side,” said Poole.
Poole added that he felt being athletic director was his way of showing his appreciation to the community and by having the opportunity to serve and be in an administrative role to listen to the coaches and take that information and do his best to support the athletic programs at FCHS.
